Welcome to Kenwood Tire, a second-generation family business I own and operate with Holly.
Tires were always part of the Wood family. The Kenwood Tire story started in 1962 when Ken Wood, tired of selling tires from his van, started looking for a brick-and-mortar location in and around Bridgewater MA.
What he found was the West Bridgewater Public Library! The library, which was built in the 1880s as a schoolhouse, was due to be demolished to make way for a new high school.
Ken offered the town $1 to take it off their hands and promised to keep the colonial lines — The Town accepted the offer and made the move possible.
December 28, 1962, was moving day, and the old 100yr old building made its way to its new location at the corner of South Main and Ash Streets in West Bridgewater.
Much more than a tire store, it’s a story of survival and serendipity — check out some of the pictures of our business and building through the years —
Today at Kenwood Tire Company you’ll find a unique and comfortable tire shop run by an experienced owner, me, and 3 full-time technicians.
